Going Out

out and aboutPlaying outside can help keep your mind and body healthy. You can meet with your friends, find new friends and do new things. If you are allowed out on your own, you should always:

  • Ask your parent or carer before playing outside alone.
  • Don’t talk to people you don’t know.
  • Don’t go anywhere with strangers.
  • Tell your parent or carer if a stranger tries to talk to you or if you feel unsafe outside.
  • If you get lost, ask for help from someone you trust. This could be a shop-keeper, police officer or a nearby family.
  • Try to learn your address and parent or carer’s phone number before you leave the house.
  • Phone 999 if you, or anyone around you is hurt or in danger.

Find out when to call 999, what to do and what happens next.
